Gray Iron Castings
Gray Iron is by the oldest of cast iron. It’s an ideal metal used for intricate castings, because it ‘s properties allow for minimal shrinkage.
Clearfield produces Gray Iron castings up to 18,000 pounds in various configurations from basic bars and rings, to highly cored volutes cylinders, and impellers. We work with wooden, Styrofoam or metal patterns either supplied by customers, or built by our own pattern shop. Clearfield specializes in Gray Iron castings for single prototypes to lower volume production runs. We also have value added processes such as machining, painting, and assembly.
